The Montvale Rescue Squad is a volunteer EMS agency that provides service to Montvale and parts of Bedford County. The Montvale Rescue Squad was organized in May 1970 with an original membership of 19 persons and began active service on September 1st of that year. It has served the community continuously now for 37 years. The Fire Department building was used as the base of operations until the first squad building was built in 1976. We have answered over 300 calls for help each year, have driven our vehicles over 10,000 miles annually, and have expended more than 1,000 man hours of volunteer service annually. MRS owns and maintains a full fleet complete with 3 ambulances and 2 response vehicles. The volunteers of Montvale Rescue take pride in the ability to provide extensive life-saving services to the local community that we serve.
